text effect - output 1

Recently, i thought of taking up some classes.. maybe interior design short courses? or graphic design short courses? (with the emphasis of 'short') hehe... cant afford to do a long term cert or dip. Not willing to put in the commitment and the money - since i kinda have no income now.

So the kiam siap-ness in me kicked in and started googling for ways to self-learn all these design stuff and if they have any free apps for me to download and play around with. And I found one!

It's called g i m p a free software which they said is as good as photo shop. And today i played around and made my first....output. haha cant find any better word since i didnt design this or anything, i just followed one of the you tube tutorials. its preeeetty cooool i think!

More outputs to come! :D

short trip back to sg

It's amazing how things that I have taken for granted like going shopping on my own, going to friends' house to chill till late, driving home alone, running errands on my own - could become oh so precious when u live in a country where public transport is not well developed, security is a major concern when going out alone and traffic jam at every corner of the street.

So, i am thankful that i was able to appreciate all that during my little trip back to sg to attend a wedding.

Well wedding post for another day i guess, managed to chill out with quite a few groups of friends. Went to this new place which i think is a really nice place to chill. Ok, i forgot to take pictures of the place, cos i've been out of touch with blogging and often forget that i wan to blog about them.

Of course, being the kitchen/food idiot that i am, haha i am not very particular about food. Im one who enjoys the ambience (and company of course) more! This place located at Bis-han Pa-rk i really like cos there isnt any other establishments around the restaurant. Just itself in the middle of the park (not sure if more restaurants will turn up though). That gave the place a spacious feel, as if we were chilling out away from the bustling city. Unlike other small cafe establishments that are also cool, but the spaces are often very cramped and small. Want to chill longer also feel bad cos pple are often queueing up to get in.

So, no pic of menu, no pic of the so-called spacious ambience that i was talking about.

next time i will remember, next time.... :p

Different Faces of Mo-n-as

I have to thank Vid for always remembering to ask me out when she goes out to interesting places with her friends. Recently she asked me to go watch an Indo Musical at Mo-n-as!

My 29 years of being an indo-nesian, I dun think i've been inside Mo-n-as! haha the closest i got was in a car outside the park, showing my overseas friend jkt's iconic monument. haha! So when she told me that we were going there to watch a musical, i was like... where? inside the monument?

So it turned out to be an outdoor theatre! with a really stunning stage backdrop with shapes that looked like mountains! I was also pretty amazed by the lighting when it shone on the mo-n-as.

I was really surprised by the grandeur of the musical stage. So thank you vid for opening my eyes to the  Indo Musical scene! haha

To end the night, i couldnt locate my driver and was stranded at a mall while he was stuck in a massive jam to come pick me.

Still cant get used to the inconvenience of travelling here and also not used to people waiting for me while i'm enjoying myself. Felt bad.

Lots of getting used to it seems... cos if not i'll end up being a hermit all my time here!
which is a no no.....

Change is Fun!

Wow wow wow!! look at how blogg-er has evolved! When i started blogging they didnt have so many cool stuff!!! Disco colours!!!

Gonna upload a printscreen of my first blog entry, just so that I will remember my old template that's been with me for....almost 9 years! Now that im gonna lose it, i still think my old template is pretty cool. It has a batik feel to it which is... kinda exotic! :D

I am thinking, change is good! Every once in a while, i felt like it's time for a change that is not so mini, but enough to make me adapt to new situations. A recent major change was coming back to Indo. While I felt like i am giving up a big part of my life, i just felt like it was time for me to do this thing. Took me about a year from having this idea, to me finally coming back to give this new life a chance. Im glad I took that long, cos I had the time to talk to almost all of my friends about it haha...and got me thinking about the various factors involved and got me more prepared for wats coming. So, knowing what to expect kinda helped alot.

At first I thot I'll be miserable with just a few friends here and the fact that my mom is very afraid of me going out on my own cos she insisted that the world outside my house is a scary and evil one haha... I've only been out hanging out w friends 3 times the past month! And these 3 times, transportation has always been a big issue. Super inconvenient la hereee..... but a month on.. and im kinda alrite staying at home the most of time :)

Haha... so it's back to about getting old and being antisocial. :p

Homeland i am back

My my... guess what! I am back to my homeland and it's been hmm... about a month since im back (went to UK first before i came back). Time really flies!

So! This is probably the thousand-th times that i've tried to revive this blog. But it's reaaally tough man.. I totally agree with what you wrote PJ..blogging has become abit of a hassle and I have turned to fb and instgra to do my posting of pics and stuff. But, out of all of them, I'd still prefer a blog to let me reminisce the good old times and record all the boring or exciting bits of my life.

So! this is my nth attempt and I hope i can sustain! :p

(hmm is it time to change the look of my blog...)

Barista Workshop - 25 June

So the 3 of us decided to attend the barista course that MsH has always wanted to go

Started with some theory about coffee and the only thing i could remember was that there are 2 commercially grown coffee namely the A_rabica and R_obusta
(okay fine i cheated I looked at my notes :p)

So the teacher said that the more atas coffee uses the A_rabica and the Kopitiam coffee uses R_obusta

But the thing that caught my attention was, A_rabica coffee contains half the caffeine compared to R_obusta and it has the same amount of caffeine as CocaCola!

So how come I cannot sleep after drinking coffee but I can sleep after drinking coke and i blame coffee for causing me to lose my sleep? :p

So... is it psychological? or that i drank R_obusta coffee?
hmmmm....interesting....

hahahaha!!
so aniwae... im not really a coffee person becos i always thot it will cause me to lose my sleep at nite and that most coffee are generally bitter.

So i only drink va_nilla la_tte from the St_ar_Bu_cks cos it's not bitter

but i was amazed to drink non-bitter coffee that I made myself in this course!
They say it's the way you make it and the bean and machine etc.
I dunnoe all that i just know that i tasted one of the nicest coffee i've ever tasted in my life!

haha exaggeration you say? perhaps a little :p
i think it was the roasted almond flavoured latte that i tried and it was so good!
i must remember to go back and drink it again :)

So after the theory lesson, we went to make our own latte and cappuccino. It was fun!
but the most fun was making the latte art!

we were supposed to make a heart shape latte like the one above!
but we ended up with this.....

.......elongated heart (right)

but no worries! damage control by the teacher and it became....

a freaking leaff!!!! how cooool is thaaaat!!! hahaha
i am impressed... veeeeerry impressed!

show you some other damage control art!

Medussa-octopus-star-like thing!

and a phoenix!!

it was fuuuuuun! even though some of them had an overdose of coffee cos we could practise as many times as we want i.e. waste as many coffee as we want
which, some of them couldnt live with and started drinking all the coffee that we made... until, their hearts started palpatating cos of too much caffeine!

hahahaha!!

well i didnt have that much guilt about wasting some of the coffee cos I already paid for them :p and im determined to make my heart on my latte!!

aaaaand i finaaaaaally succeeded!!!! :D :D
nice hor?

im so proud of my tiny-little-heart-on-my-latte :)
